Class of 1955
Epilogue
We enjoyed a brief photo opportunity inside the lobby. Right: the Wall of Dinstinction includes three names popular in current American culture. Frank Torre is brother of Joe, NY Yankee manager. The 1950 class Frank was in, with Ruth Bader Ginsburg, must have really rocked! Senator Schumer graduated a generation afterwards. Let's hope this pursuit of excellence goes on and on! Below: look who was waiting outside the principal's office. Just like 50 years earlier, Steve Cohen is holding an envelope to seem important.
The realization that times have changed, as we see machines needed for today - the security Xray inspection machine, and a defibrillator.
Still around are the bronze memorial plaques from our era, and the encased school directory that orders: "ll visitors must obtain a ass from the main desk." Wiseguy comments in the lobby haven't changed either!
There are new signs, obviously. Far left: the seal of the 75th anniversary in 2000. Left: to recreate and honor the 50s - our time - Madison's performers present the popular musical Grease in the school auditorium. Below: images of James Madison and the school's logo are above the door to the auditorium. Click here or on the links to go there.
