Adventures with Photography ~ Digital Photography Workshop Schedule
3rd Wednesday of each month (September - June) ~ 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Free Admission ~ coordinated by Joel Aronson

These Workshop sessions will emphasize the preservation of treasured family photographs. Workshop attendees are invited to participate in exhibits and presentations of their families’ photographic histories, at the library and at other involved community venues. Let us honor these cherished people by sharing our treasured, photographic based memories with our communities.

Digital Camera Operation ~ Basic Information
Fundamentals of Photographic Exposure

Lecture and Demonstrations include: How photography happens; Shutter-speeds, F/stops, Depth of Field, ISO, White Balance, Photographic composition. etc; How photography was done in the past: camera equipment, darkroom processing, etc.

Scanning and Copying Old Photographs
Demonstrations include: Different kinds of scanners used to scan prints and film; How to use digital cameras to make copies of delicate old prints, prints in frames.

Editing, Enhancing, Repairing Scanned and Copied Photographs with image enhancement software applications such as Photoshop Elements
Attendees may bring laptop computers to the Library to learn and practice image enhancement, repair and archiving techniques, using their own images, or sample images.

Indoor Studio Session
This is an opportunity to practice with the digital camera, to recreate old family photos, using then and now concept and others.

Printing and Presenting Restored Images and Memories
How to make prints from preserved images; framing them; presenting them in slideshows. Preparation for gallery exhibits.
